Thanks to the craftsmanship of master parquet installer Johan Zwartbol of Maple Leaf (The Netherlands), the floors in this 100-year-old monumental building in Rotterdam look great again! This work really required mastery and so Johan was definitely the right man. He always works to the highest possible standards and so always chooses the adhesives from WAKOL, and joint sealant and oils from LOBA.

The whole thing turned out really well. This can be seen in the beautiful photos, provided by Pulles & Pulles from Waalwijk (The Netherlands). The owners of the historic building are therefore more than thrilled with the craftsmanship that Johan has delivered.
Ground floor
On the ground floor, the floors of the living room, kitchen and hallway have been addressed. In the living room, the old floor has been restored. Centuries-old oak had been purchased and pieces have been custom-made to replace the broken parts. Johan has pulled out all the stops to preserve the floor in a responsible way and breathe new life into it. He has used LOBA EasyFill with a color addition.
The floors in the kitchen and hallway are an exact copy of the living room, but are now new floors. To provide new floors in the same style as the very old floor in the living room, they have been hand crafted and fitted in a way that makes them appear authentic. The floors are even laid in such a way that they creak when you go over them. How nostalgic is that!
After this, the entire first floor was finished with a LOBA 2K ImpactOil. After drying, The LOBA oil ensures that the seams are fully filled and the entire floor looks old. This way you have the advantages of filling the seams, but not the disadvantages of a wax. And centuries-old thresholds have been made especially for this floor which match the floors perfectly. This is to complete the picture.
First floor
The rooms on the first floor (study, bedroom and corridor) have an oak braid pattern with mahogany piping, oak band and oak friezes. The floors are all glued with a WAKOL polyurethane adhesive. The nail holes and small seams are sealed with the LOBA EasyFill. Finally, these floors are finished with LOBA 2K ImpactOil Transparent.
Second and third floor
Plank floors have been laid on the second and third floors. These planks are fully glued to 12 mm chipboard with a WAKOL polyurethane adhesive. These plank floors are also finished with LOBA 2K ImpactOil Transparent
Maintenance
To keep the floor as it is, good maintenance is essential. For this floor, Johan has recommended LOBA cleaning and maintenance products.
“Precisely because of the simplicity of these LOBA products I will definitely choose Lecol as a partner for sales and advice! Says Johan.”
